A Colorado native, Jake Zambrano joined Phase Line Strategies as a principal in 2004.
Prior to joining Phase Line Strategies he was the Director of Government Affairs for the Colorado Department of Higher Education. He was instrumental in the passage of landmark legislation that gave Colorado first-in-the-nation status as a state that funds public higher education through a true "voucher" system. His work at the department required a broad range of coalition building between public and private interests that helped ensure the viability of Colorado’s higher education system.
Among his key roles in Colorado state government Zambrano served as the Director of Operations for Governor Bill Owens during both his first and second terms. In this capacity he was responsible for a wide range of logistical requirements and was also a part of the daily strategic planning that ultimately resulted in clear and direct message delivery to the citizens of Colorado. He also served as a liaison between the governor's office and a number of community organizations including the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Colorado Appointed Public Trustees.
As the liaison for the Governor to official White House visits, Zambrano was a member of numerous White House advance teams that planned and managed events that highlighted both President Bush's and Governor Owens' policy agendas.
As Campaign Manager for Congressman Scott McInnis (CO-3) in 1996 and 1998 he orchestrated significant victories for the Congressman in both elections. Included in those efforts was the oversight and implementation of both a fundraising and public relations plan that would effectively reach a district that was larger than the state of Florida.
Zambrano is a graduate of the University of Colorado. He and his wife, Kerra, currently reside in Aurora, Colorado with their two children. |
